Welcome to the St. Philip's Religious Education Website for the school year 2011-2012!   We hope you can join us!

Due to the damages sustained by flooding during Hurricane Irene, the catechism program started late; please read below. 

  • Catechetical Sunday Mass was held September 18, 2011.  The Catechist Prayer Meeting was held in the church on Monday, January 16, 2012.  All potential catechists were invited to join our current catechists. 
  • Catechism Classes started in a unique way for all Night Session grades!  Classes were started on Monday, September 26, 2011 in the church.  We will continue to have classes in the church from 7-8:30 pm. till our school building is repaired.
  • Catechism Classes started in a unique way for all First Session grades! Classes started Sunday, October 02, 2011 with the 8:30 am mass in church. Right after mass, we break up into groups for a class lesson till 9:45 am. We will continue to have classes every week in the church till our school building is repaired.
  • Catechism Classes started in a unique way for all Second Session grades!  Classes started Sunday, October 02, 2011 with the 10:00 am mass in church. Right after mass, we break up into groups for a class lesson till 11:15 am. We will continue to have classes every week in the church till our school building is repaired.
  • Catechism Classes started in a unique way for all Home-schooled grades!  Students started Sunday, October 02, 2011, joining us for either 8:30 or 10:00 am mass in church.

IMPORTANT!  The Archdiocese of Newark requires a minimum of 35 classroom hours per catechism school year.  Please refer to the Calendar Dates for school closings.

In brief, you should know the following about us: For more than 55 years Saint Philip the Apostle parish has worshiped as a vibrant community of faith.  St. Philip’s history began immediately after World War II.  To meet the needs of these many young families, a new Catholic parish, St. Philip the Apostle, was formed in 1953.      St. Philip’s celebrates its spirit of community in many different ways.  Today the parish sponsors activities for children, young adults, adults and senior citizens.  For over 50 years the parish has hosted St. Philip’s Summer Festival of Fun; a greatly anticipated event for the parish and all of Saddle Brook.   Looking forward, St. Philip the Apostle Church will continue to work joyfully together for the Glory of God and the common good of our community of faith and neighbors.
