God has given us so many gifts in our lives; the gift of a precious child who knows no bounds, unending parental love, and care; the gifts of patience, understanding and compassion; the gifts of outreaching hands ready to help to one's fullest capacity; and for many, the gifts of juggling time, talent, efforts and joy!

Those are just a few to mention; God knows no bounds, yet he doesn't gloat about it, he doesn't demand it; God is so giving.

...And so are you.

Here we hope to help you on your journey to enrich your child's life, through faith formation, and avenues you may not have ventured yet.

“And A Child Shall Lead Us…”

This is a spiritual support group that meets monthly in Roseland, NJ.  It is co-facilitated by Cherie Castellano, MA, CSW, LPC, BCETS and Sister Rie Crowley SSJ, BS, MEd.

The last meeting was October 16th at 7pm.  We focused on “Faith and our Families”, inspiration, and even some catechesis.  There were refreshments served, and, as always, there was free babysitting.

The support group is for parents of special needs children and it is designed to help mothers with their daily challenges.  There is prayer, scripture sharing, and a holiday Mass to celebrate the abilities of special needs children and their families.

One particular area that this group can be of tremendous assistance is if you have a child who is preparing for a sacrament such as First Holy Communion.  The group offers some very helpful strategies, so if your child is in CCD or if you WISH your child was in CCD, please consider coming to one of our meetings.

The meetings include refreshments, beverages, snacks, and wine and cheese.  There is FREE babysitting provided at the meetings.  The children can have a snack, color and draw, or watch a video under the supervision of parish babysitters.

The 2008 meeting schedule is:

Thursday October 16th at 7:00pm ~completed~

Thursday November 13th at 7:00pm

And a special holiday Mass on December 11th.

The group meets in the Founders Hall at Our Lady of the Blessed Sacrament, R.C. Church.  The church is located at 28 Livingston Avenue in Roseland NJ.  If you need any additional information you can contact Regina Cioffi at cioffir@optonline.net    New members are always welcome, so I hope you will consider coming to a meeting.
