St. Philip the Apostle Church offers an additional program for our registered parishioners.  Please read on...

HOME-SCHOOLING FOR STUDENTS

Click here if you would like to register for home schooling.Home schooling programs are offered to parishioners for Grades One through Seven. Baptismal Certificate copies are required and communication is crucial for the program to work.

Sacramental years (First Reconciliation, First Eucharist in the Second Grade, and Confirmation in the Eighth Grade) require additional participation in St. Philip by both the parent(s) and the child(ren).

To find out more about this additional program we offer, please contact the religious education office for additional information.

Not yet a member of our parish?  Don't worry; just click on this link, print and complete the registration form, then stop by the parish rectory and introduce yourself!

For more great information for home schoolers, visit Esther's Home Schooling page for the latest home schooling tips, prayers, hints, and more to get you well on your way to be your child's best teacher ever!

Hopefully by now, you have all the material you'll need to home school your child with the catholic catechism.  If you are lacking anything, please do not hesitate to remind us to give this to you.

Try to follow the class schedule you have been provided as closely as you can.  Once you have completed each unit (approximately four chapters a unit),  write your assigned catechist, us or call (201) 843-2240 to make an appointment to review the work and to discuss any questions, issues or concerns, as well as progress.

Further parenting help can be at this and other websites, found at the bottom of this link:

You are also invited to join the discussion groups for the catechists on the holidays the children are not attending sunday school.  The dates will be posted here in the near future...

  • October 10, 2011
  • January 16, 2012

  • These meetings allow us to discuss teaching advice, ideas and planning for the future.

If you need someone to watch your child(ren) while you attend, we will be available to care for children to make it easier for you.

We also have many children bibles, storybooks and videos for the children to watch.  Stop by our library (in the religious education office) if you would like to supplement the material you are using.

Please let us know what other ways we can help you with home schooling.  We will be happy to help.

    Yours in Christ,
    Pat Schauble
